Ciao, I'm Doyin, originally from Glasgow, Scotland. I've been a resident of Parma for the past 13 years, all thanks to meeting my husband during a holiday in Levanto back in 2010. I work as an Oil & Gas Engineer and am a proud mother of two boys, Cameron and Finlay, both of whom attend the European School of Parma.
While Scotland boasts its natural beauty, the constant cold and rainy weather led me to appreciate the warmth and vibrant colors of Parma's historic center. However, since becoming parents, we opted to move to a residential area just outside the city center to have a more space and a garden for our family.
Parma, with its perfect blend of urban life and nature, has proven to be an ideal place to raise our children. The city offers easy access to transportation, cultural events, theaters, parks, restaurants, and in the winter, convenient access to the nearby slopes of Schia.
In my spare time, in addition to this website, I am writing a recipe book on Italian food with various traditional recipes I’ve learned from the grandmothers I had the pleasure to meet over the years.
I have a deep affection for this adopted city of mine and enjoy sharing the remarkable experiences and useful insights I come across with those who, like me, are newcomers and curious to explore the city I now proudly call home.
Follow me to for updated events, blogs and to discover the Parma and ease the living experience of internationals who are moving to or living in Parma.
