Parma has plenty of full-sized supermarkets where you can get everything you need to stock your kitchen. As mentioned on our food page, Esselunga, Conad and Lidl all have modest international food sections along with plenty of italian staples. Supermarkets also stock wine and liquor, but the selection is not always very large. Here we give you some suggestions for local specialty shops.

Tuesday morning, in piazzale San Bartolomeo, from 7.30am to 1.00pm; on Wednesday morning, in Parco Bizzozero, via Montebello 42 (parco del Dono), from 7.30am to 1.00pm; on Friday afternoon, in piazza Rastelli, from 4pm to 7pm.

La Proscuitteria: wonderful shop for meats and prepared foods. They also have fresh parmesan, shrink-wrapped, to be brought home for a gift.
